Competitive Innovations, LLC is seeking a System Administrator in support of a major federal client providing security services including cyber incident response, threat analysis and security operations support. Responsibilities include providing end-to-end lab management using technical expertise to ensure new applications are tested before deployed into production. Responsibility also includes hardware build, software configuration, and maintenance of the lab across multiple domains and networks.  This is a full-time employee position with Competitive Innovations and includes a competitive benefits package.
 
Location:         Rosslyn, VA
Work Hours:   7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Lab administration and maintenance (i.e., patching, license, warranty, capacity, asset inventory, account management, physical security) according to Government policies and procedures, including testing and implementing software and hardware upgrades
  • Provide Lab administration support to existing and new infrastructure, including ongoing network (across multiple networks) support, network availability and addressing performance problems that may be present.
  • Troubleshoot lab network connectivity issues, plan and execute switch configurations.
  • Provide quality assurance review for new and existing applications configurations.
  • Provide lab troubleshooting support for teams that are working on new projects that require lab testing.
 
Qualification:
 
  • Secret-level security clearance (Top Secret preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Network Systems Integration, or Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certifications (preferred): Cloud CCSP, Azure of AWS, CCNA, Network +, and/or Security +
  • Understanding of system monitoring, design, maintenance and lab administration duties.
  • Experience with the server and network configuration settings and implementation of security best practices.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals, sub-netting and other networking fundamentals.
  • The ability to monitor and diagnose issues within the network.
  • Ability to update documentation as needed.
  • Technical troubleshooting skills, analytical problem solving ability, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills in technical, business, and client interactions
  • Experience working with Firewalls (ASA, PaloAlto)
  • Experience with VPN implementation
  • Experience with boundary protections solutions
